Club Open Electric 16 Aug 2026

The day started dull with a hint of drizzle in the offing, but happily the wet stuff did not appear, and as the day went on, the clouds slowly cleared. As we only had a two hour window the target time was reduced to eight minutes from ten minutes, even then only two flights out of 24 managed to go the distance. The flights encountered little lift so it was a case of trying to fly gently and without upsetting the model to try to maximise the time. Hitting the spot was more important than ever though even in the light wind proved very difficult for the field.

Paul eventually came through to win the competition but happiest man of the day was Nigel for not only did he win a round, he placed third for the first time ever. Well done Nigel.
