A small and hardy band gathered at Mallusk for the last Pures competition of the year. The wind was light and variable and although rain was threatened, it didn’t materialise. The light winds led to fairly low launches making lift difficult to locate and work. Of course, this emphasised spot landings and three rounds were won by virtue of the extra points. The flight times were very short, in the two to three minute range with only one flight of four minutes all day. The short flights led to a speedy competition so it was decided by all to run a second competition of three rounds. Alas Nigel suffered radio problems on launch in the second round which put him out of the running.
