Five hardy souls attended the competition at Mallusk on a bright and breezy day. Five rounds were flown with one discard. The weather improved as the day went on with the temperature rising while the gales failed to appear. Paul had taken the forecast of gale force winds to heart and brought along his ‘fast’ model, a mistake, for the model just sank out of the sky in the first two rounds. A swift change to his Introduction saw a change in his fortunes. Everyone else enjoyed good soaring flights as the breeze blew lift through the field. The breeze also made landing in the circle a challenge for most and alas Tommy damaged his model after three rounds. Sam scored consistently to win by a significant margin. Well done Sam. After the event we retreated to the cars sunburnt and happy.
