First competition of the season and the weather was great, light winds, blue skies and cumulus clouds. The clouds indicated marvellous lift which we found in abundance. Of course, what goes up must come down so there was plenty of sink in attendance too. Andrew was back flying and showed that he was just as sharp as ever by easily winning the first round. Round 2 was full of sink with very average flight times making the spot landing bonus important. Thereafter some flyers found lift taking the models to speck height with ease while others struggled through sink, everybody got their fair share of that. We flew five rounds with one discard and the morning passed by quickly. At the end Paul ran out as winner by a narrow margin just ahead of Andrew. It was a very
fine day
