Club Open Electric Soaring 27 October 2019

The weather, for a change, was great.  Clear blue skies giving way to broken cloud propelled by a moderate wind. Turbulence inevitably raised it’s head making for interesting flying, particularly close to the ground.  Seven flyers competed with good flight times in every round. David flew in his first competition scoring well while Ronnie added to the event. After five rounds, with one discard, Keith and Paul advanced to the fly off.

Both found adequate lift to fly out the round but although Keith managed 8 mins, Paul was caught by a gust on finals putting his model into a shrub costing him 13 precious seconds. In the second round both men flew a perfect 8 minute time leaving Keith the winner in what was the most closely contested fly off in recent times.  Well done Keith!
