Open Electric Thermal: 7 May 2023

The day dawned clear and dry with light winds and some patchy lift. In the first round Sam got away and trashed the scores of everyone else. Sadly Tim struck a tree on approach and broke the fuselage of his model in two and as we discussed the scores, Keith realized that the open launch height was 150m and he had launched to 100m as he was flying his electrified Pures. Oops! The lift continued to be patchy until approximately 11.00am meaning that some people scored well while others did not even though they launched at the same time. The reduced size of the landing tape keeping everyone on their toes, out of 40 flights the tape was troubled on only 25 occasions. After 1100am the sun broke through the clouds and the lift was massive with everyone having long flights and exciting landings. Once again Sam came through to win with some very consistent flying, well done Sam!
